Brunch + Cocktails at Empire Kitchen & Cocktails

Last weekend we had the delightful opportunity to enjoy brunch at Empire Kitchen & Cocktails in Detroit.  We are suckers for a good brunch and Empire did not disappoint. The menu is surprisingly curated, you aren’t overwhelmed with options but everything we tried was fantastic. We appreciate a concise menu where every option is a good one. We started with cocktails. Our server was amazing and recommended the Raspberry Dragon. Try this drink, it’s refreshing and slightly fizzy, the perfect brunch cocktail.

Raspberry Dragon: Titos Vodka, Combier Pamplemousse Rose, Raspberry, Lemon, L. Mawby “Sex” Sparkling Rose

We made sure to order a bit of everything to really get a feel for the menu. First up, The Empire Omelet. This was cooked to perfection. Since Gina is vegetarian we ordered it without the bacon, but it came with mushroom, green pepper, onion, cheddar, and was served with Home Fries and Toast.

The omelette was simple but cooked perfectly, and the home fries were phenomenal.

I always want something sweet with brunch so we ordered the Stuffed French Toast with Cream Cheese Filling, Berries, and maple syrup. This was fantastic and not sickly sweet. I’m not sure what bread they used for the French toast but it was really good.

I highly recommend the Stuffed French Toast if you like sweet items for breakfast

The best part of brunch is it’s also lunch, so we made sure to try one of the burgers they offered. The House Burger comes with caramelized onion, white cheddar, with garlic aioli. We added an egg because … brunch! The truffle fries on the side were perfect.

House Burger w/ Truffle Fries – doesn’t this look so good!

We also had one of the best salads of my life. It was loaded with goat cheese, citrus, shaved Brussel sprouts, cranberries and a lemon poppy seed vinaigrette. I’m not sure if this is season but if you spot it on the menu – ORDER IT!

BEST SALAD EVER

We tried a few more drinks – make sure to ask your server for recommendations. Ours made us some amazing cocktails that were so pretty!

Can’t have brunch without plenty of cocktails!

We definitely recommend this place for a boozy brunch day. The interior was lovely, amazing service, and a great menu. They also have beautiful patio space for the warmer weather coming up!
